Well here it is Thursday...wow the week is flying by! Tuesday night we went to an Open Gym Night that our church was hosting at a local elementary school. It was our first one of the summer & we plan to do them once a month until school starts back.
Our pastor visited the local girls & boys club plus drove through the section 8 area of our town looking for kids to invite. We had a good turn out & hopefully this will be a way that we can reach our community for Christ.
I worked with the younger kids that showed up & played some organized basketball games with them outside. The older kids, teens, & adults played on the court in the gym. We are also starting a food bank at our church so this is a good way to get the word out.
While I was working there another friend of mine who homeschools talked to me about starting a new homeschool group. A lot of the ones in our community are very crowded & I know a lot of people who do not like them because they are sort of "weird" (their description). So I think it will be good for us & we can start planning our group for the fall.
We did a day of school yesterday & continued working on our Machine Chart (see previous posts) & I will be adding that hopefully on Sunday. We are going out of town in the morning...headed to Macon, Georgia - so check back as I add information on our trip there.
