The Powerful Word of God

The Word of God can be thought of in two different ways. Before the written Word was the spoken Word. God spoke when he created the universe & we see how that worked out...totally awesome. God's spoken Word is powerful! So why should his written Word be seen any differently?

The written Word is actually alive...not just an old, antiquated book. It is active. The words in the Bible are God's own personal thoughts that speak to each one of us on an individual basis. The Bible is always creating, refining, changing, & purifying any heart that is exposed to it. That is the key, exposing your heart to it on a daily basis.

Have you ever felt like something was wrong but you couldn't put your finger on it. You feel confused about things that are happening or your life is in turmoil for no good reason. When you expose your heart to the Word, God can sort out all the things that you don't understand. Like a knife it cuts out the confusion & gets to the root of the problem, & while it might be painful it brings about healing.

The Word of God is not simply a collection of words from God, a vehicle for communicating ideas: it is living, life-changing, and dynamic as it works in us. With the incisiveness of a surgeon's knife, God's Word reveals who we are and what we are not. It penetrates the core of our moral and spiritual life. It discerns what is within us, both good and evil. The demands of God's Word require decisions. We must not only listen to the Word, we must also let it shape our life.

So if you find yourself in turmoil or are confused as to what you should do with a problem that has arisen, go to the Word of God. Let Him expose your weaknesses & shortcomings (we all have them), & then expose your heart to the answers that He has for you.
