Devotion: Be Firmly Planted in the Word

I recently went through a Bible study directed specifically at mothers & I thought it would be a great addition to my posts. I hope that these will be of inspiration to you like they were for me.

While motherhood is one of the greatest blessings you could have, it can also be challenging. I would imagine that from time to time you feel overwhelmed by the dauntless task of being a godly woman, wife, and mother. Whether your children are preschoolers, teenagers, or grown adults, you probably feel unwise sometimes. Every now and then it feels like you're drowning. God knows how we feel and He has provided a life source right here on earth for us.

Ephesians 1:3 tells us we have every "spiritual blessing" in Christ to do the things God has called us to do. "How we praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we belong to Christ."

"Who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms" means that in Christ we have all the benefits of knowing God...being chosen for salvation, insight, the gifts of the Spirit, power to do God's will, the hope of living forever with Christ. Because we have an intimate relationship with Christ, we can enjoy these blessings now. The "heavenly realms" means that these blessings are eternal, not temporal. The blessings come from Christ's spiritual realm, not the earthly realm of the goddess Artemis.

If you will plant you life firmly in the Word of God he will give you insight on how to raise your children & you will have the power to do that which God has asked you to do. Maybe he has asked you to be a stay at home mom or to homeschool your children. Whatever it is, he has blessed you with power to succeed.
