Monday Musings

It has been a busy weekend! Thursday I had a meeting at church for our ongoing "Open Gym Night" which is one of our community outreaches. We had one of the teens, who came to play at our last one, bring his dad & brother to church on Fathers Day, so it was good to see that it was productive.

After the meeting my sons best friend came home with us to spend the night. His mom is also my best friend here in Georgia & they have been called to the mission field in the Philippines. They are leaving in the morning so we were trying to get as much time together as we could.

Friday our husbands took the kids to Lake Alatoona for a day of boating & swimming while my friend & I had a night out with other ladies in the church. Once a month we have ChickFlick night & meet at someones home for dinner & a movie.

Saturday morning our ladies walking club from church, The Sole Sisters, met for breakfast at 8am. It was a going away breakfast for my friend...who can do a 15 mile walk without breaking a sweat! She is such a sweet person & everyone loves her.

I then went home, cleaned house & got ready for one of my sons other friends to arrive for a sleep over. Sunday morning we of course went to church, ate lunch out with our friends (their last Sunday before leaving for the Philippines) & then took their kids home with us for the afternoon so that they could continue packing.

Sunday night we had a meeting at church for the leaders & then afterwards had a going away party for our friends. There were a lot of tears & sad goodbyes, but we all know that God has called them there for a purpose. I look at it with sadness but not goodbye...after all the Philippines are a nice place to visit when we are ready for a long vacation.

This morning we traveled to Warner Robins, Georgia. My husband is working here today & tomorrow so we will be here until Wednesday morning. Tomorrow we plan on going to an aviation museum here so I will get info & photos on that to share.

Hope all of you have a blessed week!
